The Chicago Tribune article "Trial Knocks on governor's door" quoted me with the statement below:
"The governor came here riding a white horse and he was our ethics czar and he definitely doesn't deserve a pass," said Sen. Susan Garrett (D- Lake Forest). "But I think it's really more important that we as legislators and leaders look into why this continues to happen over and over again."

Way to go, Susan!
I completely agree that our governor needs to be brought to account for his mostly major infractions. Let's see how this can be done. As always, it's much easier to talk the talk than to WALK the WALK.
I guess i am wondering if your comment is as much about the ethical standards of this Governor as it is about a style of behavior that is begininig to appear endemic to the office? The absence of serious outcry or inquiry regarding our current Governor has long ago made me consider that ethical boundries have shifted.
The governor is not only unethical, he is refusing to govern except by proclamation and press release. His irresponsibility in financial matters is unprecedented and will result in a hindrance to state government for many years to come.
